Coronavirus Update:

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, not all physicians who treat PAD are seeing new patients. To help you find a physician more easily, we have a separate Find A Doctor page here that only includes physicians whom we believe to be open and actively treating PAD patients during the pandemic.

What is peripheral artery disease (PAD)?

Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) is a common and often underdiagnosed circulatory disease where blood flow to the legs and feet is restricted by the narrowing of blood vessels due to plaque buildup.

Left untreated, PAD can result in amputation and put you or your loved one’s quality of life and long-term health at serious risk.

The good news is PAD can be treated. With an early diagnosis, you may have more treatment options and may have a better chance to reduce or eliminate your symptoms.

We are collaborating with leading experts to innovate and lead the way in treating PAD.

Only a healthcare professional can diagnose PAD. We encourage you to learn more about the disease and talk to your doctor if you are concerned about your risk or your symptoms.

What is coronary artery disease (CAD)?

When you have CAD, plaque builds up in the vessels of your heart, narrowing the openings and reducing the amount of blood that can flow to your heart. Over time, this plaque can become severely calcified—or hardened—and the resulting loss of blood flow may cause chest pain, shortness of breath or, if it is left untreated, even heart attack.40

CAD affects more than 16.8 million people in the United States, making it the most common type of heart disease.39

The good news is CAD can be treated. With an early diagnosis, you may have more treatment options and may have a better chance to reduce or eliminate your symptoms.
